Ocroon Privacy Policy

Ocroon is a voice-first dating app: you talk first, and photos are revealed only after you and the other person both choose each other. This policy explains what data Ocroon ("we") collects, why, and what control you have over it.

1. Data we collect

• Account data — when you sign in with Google we receive your email address, your name, and a Google account identifier. We do not receive your Google password.
• Profile data — first name, birth date, gender, matching preferences, city and approximate location, spoken languages, interests, and bio you provide.
• Photos — the profile photos you upload. Photos are stored with identifying metadata (such as GPS EXIF tags) removed, and are shown to another user only after a mutual match.
• Messages — text messages you exchange after a mutual match.
• Call metadata — who you talked to, when, and for how long. Voice calls are never recorded and we never store call audio.
• Safety data — blocks and reports you submit or that are submitted about you.
• Technical data — device push-notification tokens and standard server logs (IP address, timestamps) needed to operate the service.

2. How we use it

We use this data to run the service: matching you with compatible people nearby, connecting voice calls, revealing profiles after mutual interest, delivering messages and notifications, enforcing our rules, and keeping the community safe. We do not sell your data and we do not show third-party advertising.

3. Who can see your profile

Before a call, the other person sees only your first name, age, city, languages, and shared interests — never your photos. Photos and your full profile are revealed only after you both privately choose each other. This rule is enforced by our servers, not just the app.

4. Service providers

We use a small number of infrastructure providers that process data on our behalf:

• Hetzner (Germany/Finland, EU) — server hosting and data storage.
• LiveKit Cloud — real-time voice call transport. Audio passes through their infrastructure encrypted and is not recorded.
• Google — sign-in and (later) push notifications via Google Play services.

5. Retention and deletion

Your data is kept while your account exists. Deleting your account (Settings → Delete account, or see how to delete your account) immediately and permanently erases your profile, photos, matches, and chats. Reports submitted for safety reasons are retained in anonymized form (they no longer reference your identity), and we may retain minimal records where the law requires it. Server logs rotate automatically.

6. Your rights

Depending on where you live (including under the EU GDPR), you may have the right to access, correct, export, or delete your personal data, and to object to or restrict certain processing. Deletion is built into the app; for anything else, email support@ocroon.com and we will respond within 30 days. You may also lodge a complaint with your local data-protection authority.

7. Age

Ocroon is for adults only. You must be at least 18 years old to use it, and we remove accounts of people under 18.

8. Security

All traffic between the app and our servers is encrypted with TLS. Photos and messages are stored on access-controlled servers in the EU and are never publicly accessible.

9. Changes

If we change this policy in a meaningful way, we will notify you in the app before the change takes effect. The effective date above always reflects the current version.
